I let Buzz hang around the Port Terminal for a bit yesterday while I was there taking some photos for Allete Clean Energy (ACE).
The  25 ton, 125ft blades are trucked 500 miles to a new wind farm (Thunder Spirit) in Western North Dakota.

Glensheen Webcam added!

Glensheen Webcam
Thanks to some watchful viewers (Greg), I have included the Glensheen Pier cam in our cameras.

The unusual view looks out at Lake Superior from the Historic Congdon Estate located a few miles from Downtown Duluth.

This should be a great place to do a little storm watching.

The Glensheen Estate is a "Must See" for anyone visiting Duluth.

Here is a Virtual Tour if you would like to visit and cannot make it yet.

In six months, the lake will look like this!  A different kind of beautiful!

2015 Harborcam Image Gallery

The webcams have been collecting images as 2015 has progressed.  I have compiled a gallery of some of these boat arrivals and departures. In them you can easily observe the different moods of Lake Superior and get a better understanding of why we keep coming back to this locations time and time again, either in person or virtually.

You can view the 2015 Harborcam Gallery HERE.

HHL Elbe -- Camera on a Stick

When the HHL Elbe arrived this afternoon, it was a bit too windy for Buzz to fly, so I did the next best thing and stuck my camera up on a 20ft painters pole to get an elevated view.

Camera Status Update 8/6/2015 08:00

All cameras are operating, but, expect some intermittent operation today.

Important Notice: The camera streaming company is moving the cameras to a new and "eventually" better streaming platform.  During this period (about a week) you can expect slow, intermittent, and sometimes unstable operation.

I am working with the streaming company during this time and once complete, the system should be better then ever.   Thanks for you patience and understanding during this process.

Whoa! Tight Fit! American Spirit departed Duluth 08/04/15

American Spirit departed Duluth at 15:15 Tuesday. Tight fit in the canal for the tug Kentucky.
A sailboat in the shipping lane may also have caused a quick maneuver for the Spirit a she departed.
