The Beach Cam views the Duluth Shipping Canal from the south side of the Arial Lift Bridge. This view is great for sunrises, sailboat beaches, large boat viewing, and storm watching. The Webcam is owned and located at Solglimt Bed and Breakfast. If you are coming to Duluth, stay at Solglimt Bed and Breakfast to see the ship canal for yourself and explore the wonderful Park Point Beach.
All 6 miles of Park Point Beach are public. Every day, strollers and hikers, dogwalkers, and joggers appear on the beach Cam. In November and December, wetsuited surfers, perhaps sporting blue lips, catch the frequent high waves on their longboards.
Visit: solglimt.com for more information.
What are they doing to the beach? Looks terrible now.
ReplyDeleteBuilding the sand back up after it was washed into the lake a few storms ago,
DeleteThank you for the info, I was wondering about that.
DeleteDid anybody else see the UFO flying behind the Presque Isle just before it reached the canal last night?
ReplyDeleteIs there a video/YTube link to the Presque Isle's entry that you are referencing... on 8/31/21 or 9/1/21 ?
DeleteSo, here is the edited footage of the PI's arrival, starting at the 3:37 mk. It's just before it reaches the canal and then cuts to the canal. I don't see it in this footage. Is it there?

The video link posted here shows a edited montage of 8/31/21... were you joking... about the distorted lighthouse light that appears to be behind the P.I. ? Otherwise, I don't see it... jokes on me I guess?
DeleteProbably those miniature Martians hijacking Dennis's copter drone again. They are scoping out ways to replenish their home planet by running a plasma-ionic pipeline from the Great Lakes to Mars.
ReplyDeleteGreetings - Thank you for the webcam. I visit often. At night I see a cluster of lights at (what looks like) the top of the hill over the city. It's on the left side of the image. Do you know what that is? UMD? St. Scholastica?
ReplyDeleteThat cluster of lights is most likely KDLH, Duluth International Airport.
Deletethose lights seem too far east to be airport. i'd bet that's Tower Hall and other buildings St Scholastica buildings (??)
Deletewhat camera are you referring to? The AMI cam is the only one I can find that looks towards the city. Is that the one?

DeleteAnyway to change the opening picture to a warmer one, snow makes me cold. Love the web cams!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful view. Thank you for supporting the camera. My father is from Duluth. We plan on visiting soon.
ReplyDeleteI love this site as I lived right next door to Solglmit when I was a kid for 18 years and was raised on Park Point. Such an idyllic lifestyle and the most pleasant memories! I knew Ann and Oscar Nelson who owned the house which is now the bed and breakfst Solglmit. We were the best of friends and I called her Auntie Ann!
ReplyDelete:-) Nice post, nice testimony.
Deletewhy has the Harbor Cam changed 9-20-22
ReplyDeleteCannot access/view the "Inn on Lake Superior" for some reason. It has been this way for a couple of months. Try daily. I always liked being able to see the Lake Walk, different angle for the ships coming in and out. Miss viewing it!
ReplyDeleteThat cam was run by the Inn. It appears they no longer have it in use, it is gone from their website.
