This morning while watching the American Integrity come through the canal I noticed that there was a large ladder mounted to the starboard side of the ship near the stern. Is that a safer more stable way that some ships are now providing for their crews to lower themselves to tie up instead of using a boatswains chair?
Thanks Casna! I didn't know if the Hammond Bay was repaired after it sank last year. The Fairchild is its twin and used to sit on the Army COE dock, but vanished about a year and a half ago...so I was hoping that it was it!
The info re Hammond Bay is from the older article so I don't know about that or the Fairchild. I hope someone can still answer. Wish we could get updates about those things.
