Michipicoten Departure - An interesting "Turn of Events"
Currents in the Duluth Shipping Canal can be tricky, especially after a heavy rain, such as last night.
When the 698 foot Michipicoten began to make it's final turn into the canal this afternoon, it was forced to back up and re-negotiate the turn in the swift current.
An alert crew, made the correction with plenty of room to spare.
An interesting turn of events to watch.
