Picked up some hot chicks this morning!

This morning I picked up a new bunch of chickens that came in overnight and were waiting at the Post Office for me.

They will be kept in a nice warm brooder for a few weeks and then moved to the coop.

The girls are happy in their new home and we should have fresh eggs by August.

    1. When you visit the North Shore, you must see: Duluth Lakewalk, Duluth Rose Garden, Enger Park, Betty's Pie's, Two Harbors -harbor, Gooseberry Falls State Park, Split Rock Lighthouse, Palisade Head, Temperance River State Park, Tettegouche State Park, Cascade River State Park and Grand Marais. You might have to come back if you run out of time. --- Jay Cooke State Park just west of Duluth is great also.

  5. What kind are they? My favorite egg layers are Rhode Island Red. We have a couple we got as day old chicks, now 4 years old and still giving us several eggs per week. Nice, big brown eggs.

    1. The chicks are the Isa breed, probably related to the reds somehow. supposedly 300 eggs a year.
