I know it hurts to see this happen, but at least it happens on American soil. Goodbye old friend.
Rest In Pieces might be more accurate. Sniff.
The crew on the Tracer had a good view!
At least she's been parted out and the rest will be scrapped so she can be born again of the fire instead of 'rusting in peace'.
What did they do with the JB Ford?
The Ford will be recycled!
Thanks, Buzz and Dennis for the poignant final views. Was it purely coincidence that the music you used was "Greensleeves," which, if I recall right, has the phrase "Alas, my love, you do me wrong, to cast me off so discourteously........." Judy
I was part of the decommissioning crew on my first ship, USS Bexar (LPA-237), when I was in the Navy and the ceremony was like a funeral. My brother saw one of his ships, USS Luce (DDG-38), being scrapped. Even sadder.I remember the J.B Ford sailing along the St. Clair River back when I was a kid and miss her along with the many boats that have disappeared since the 50s and 60s. - Don
