  7. I was part of the decommissioning crew on my first ship, USS Bexar (LPA-237), when I was in the Navy and the ceremony was like a funeral. My brother saw one of his ships, USS Luce (DDG-38), being scrapped. Even sadder.

    I remember the J.B Ford sailing along the St. Clair River back when I was a kid and miss her along with the many boats that have disappeared since the 50s and 60s.
