Update 3/31: So I went to fry up the huge egg from yesterday and found this egg within an egg.- I have heard of double yoke eggs, but, this is the first double shell egg that I have seen.
One of our chickens laid this whopper of an egg while we were out of town today. I bet our neighbors heard her squawking. And I thought the 1000ft boats were big! (relatively speaking)
Holy buckets Dennis! I hope it is a double yolk

Wow! Eggs that size will make Easter egg hunting easy!
ReplyDeleteSure you don"t have a duck hiding in there?
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteJust in time for April Fool's Day??
ReplyDeleteLooks like that egg (or eggs) would be one for the record book! Was the inside egg normal?
ReplyDeleteYes, although the inside egg was surrounded by egg white. After breaking the inside egg open, it looked and tasted normal. Go figure!
DeleteI've heard of a double yolk being a good luck thing but a double shell?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this photo!

Can we please keep the comments to the ships and not the giant yokes!! lol Dennis I bet that egg was good. I miss having fresh eggs. I have been getting a lot of double yokes lately and even a triple!
ReplyDeleteThe egg was great, all yoking aside!
DeleteIs she okay? No bleeding or anything? Poor thing.
ReplyDeleteMust be OK--- I cannot tell which one it was.
DeleteRed Skelton once joked, "She was squawking like a one pound hen laying a two pound egg".
