Summary of changes to camera configurations.
The Bridgecam has been upgraded to live streaming and is now showing Bentleyville. This camera will remain in place with this view Bayfront Park.
The Harborcam is now upgraded to live streaming, however, it is an older camera and will be replaced when I save up the $2000 it cost to change it out.
So, all six cameras are now streaming live! I have wanted this for a long time hope to keep them all running through the winter.
Please let me know if and when you see errors or have other request, these cameras are as much yours as they are mine, and I consider myself the maintenance guy for duluthharborcam.com and hope to provide the best view of the best place on earth.
Enjoy the views!
Den

ReplyDeleteDennis,
ReplyDeleteThank you for these cameras! I love watching the ships come and go. The cameras have brought Duluth to those of us not as lucky to live in the best place on earth.

ReplyDeleteWonderful. Thank you for sharing your talent with all of us.
ReplyDeleteMay I suggest pointing the LaFarge stream cam more to the left, so it fills the gap between the GLA cam and the Harbor cam?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all the time and expense you have put into this site over the years!
Dennis, was thrilled to see the donation link this morning. I've been wanting to contribute since I view daily. Thanks for doing this!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for these cameras. I'm always checking to see what's happening.
ReplyDeleteAt 2:30 pm eastern time, 1:30 yours, I watched as six people went out on the ice between the Coast Guard Station and the marina. The Coast Guard ship wasn't there so there was open water and that's exactly where they headed. Eventually one walked toward the open water - and disappeared into the open water. While this was going on, I spotted two trucks and a trailer in the lower right corner and the path through the snow where they walked out onto the ice. A second person joined the first in the water and later, they pulled themselves out. I don't know what entity this is but obviously, they are cold water training. Wonder what they'd think if they knew their training was being observed 1,300 miles away in Maine.
ReplyDeleteYou are correct, the people on the ice is the Coast Guard doing cold water rescues.
ReplyDeleteCoast Guard cold water rescue drills
ReplyDeleteJust like bay watch ha.
DeleteThanks for putting Pier B cam back to facing the bridge from the harbor. I usually go there first to see if there are any ship lights out on Superior. Then I go to the maps to see which way they're going. Dennis, just in case you haven't been told today, we REALLY appreciate all that you do to keep us NON Duluthians up to date on what seems to be our favorite passtime...Thank You Thank You ThankYou...Penny in IL
ReplyDeleteDennis, is there any way I can receive the vhf marine scanner on my iPad???
ReplyDeleteTim,
ReplyDeleteThe Scanner uses Flash, so, not yet. There may be a better way to do this in the future.
Dennis, might I suggest putting the $2000 camera upgrade on kickstarter.com? I'm sure many of us would like to help.
ReplyDeleteThe bay camera is not working correctly. You might want to check it when you get a chance
ReplyDeleteRegrettably, I have put the harborcam back onto snapshot mode. Being the oldest camera, it just doesn't have the guts to stream. Now we have more incentive then ever to update it soon.
ReplyDeleteSteve,
ReplyDeleteKickstarterter is a great idea, I will look into it.
Thanks,
Den
