The Fleet Arrive

When I saw all the boats on the horizon -- I couldn't help myself and had to see it from the air.

Parade of Lakers!

Baie St. Paul
CSL Tadoussac
Baie Comeau
Whitefish Bay
Thunder Bay
Cason J. Callaway
Hon. James L. Oberstar
The last time this many boats arrived in a bunch was the Tall Ships (Parade of Sails) last summer.  While the ice makes a good background, it would be nice if the temps were a bit higher then 38 F.

Suddenly -- the boats are back

A flotilla of lakers entered the port at noon -- making for a packed harbor today

Streaming Camera disruption

I appologise for the signal failure on the streaming cameras. Apparently they hit a limit on viewers that needed to be changed. Should be good now.

Summer Drift!

Although it seems summer is far off, actually it is only a few weeks away. Soon, the salties will be anchored off shore and Wednesday Night sailboat races will be in full swing.  Hang in there, at least the mesquites aren't out yet.

Lake Superior Ice

A year ago in April, heavy east winds pushed lake ice into 15ft piles at the end of the piers.  This image was taken of the Arthur M Anderson as it pushed through the ice after the storms.
