There was a fire on the Roger Blough yesterday. Read the story in the Duluth News Tribune. The Blough is wintering in Sturgeon Bay WI. Please post any updates in the comments below.
The Blough was in Sturgeon Bay for a good part of last year. I don't know why. Maybe they were refitting the self-unloader to make it more common with other boats. But it was off the lakes from (estimate) July on.
Green Bay TV station reports that no one was injured, including firefighters and crew.
ReplyDeleteSo SAD.
ReplyDeleteHope no one was injured. Hopefully the Blough will be reparable.

It was undergoing regular winter maintenance, and was layed up because of demand with the economy situation. It was planning on sailing in the spring.
DeleteOne of my favorite lakers. I hope the Blough will "buff out" and be back to sailing in the spring.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the roger blough will be back on the great lakes again

ReplyDeleteDid anyone see the shooting star at 1:48?
ReplyDeleteI just saw that damage estimates are about $20 million. Hopefully they can repair and have it out in no time.
