With the longer night of September, the Milky Way becomes more visible over Lake Superior. The lights in the background is Two Harbors on the North Shore.
When I sailed the lakes 1960-1966 and offshore 1966-1976 I would dress warmly and take a folded blanket forward of the pilothouse (FW) or bridge (SW) and sit on the blanket on deck. Lean back against the front of the house and look at the stars. It almost felt like you could reach out and touch them. Greg Hayden Vista,CA USA
Beautiful, and so many "shooting stars" too. Grammie Pat, Roberts, WI
