Roll Cloud across Lake Superior 06/10/2020

A relatively rare roll cloud moved across the Western Lake Superior this morning. These cameras are not only fun to watch boats, but the many faces of our northern climate. This one minute timelapse video covers a three hour time frame from 05:00 to 08:00.

  1. This is marvelous. To be able to see three hours roll by so quickly is eye opening. It is also fun to watch the Fraserborg (I assume) moving around so much in the wind. It makes one realize that it would be easy to get sea sick if not used to being on the water.

  2. Interesting to watch the anchored vessel move about the anchor line in the wind. Wind has a lot of force to move that heavy ship around.

  3. that's pretty cool, first I watched it in the fast mode (that ship was really swinging around) then I changed the speed setting to .25

  5. Rather ominous looking clouds. I wonder why that ship looked like it was going around in circles in the time lapse?
