And then lengthened and renamed Charles M Beeghly winter layup 1971-72, so was "new" when I first saw this laker in Duluth the next season...like the song, "yesterday, when I was young" LOL. Just had to look it up--the original Shenango was a wooden carferry built 1895, got stuck in ice January 2004, sat with her fires banked but then caught fire March 11 2004 just as ice was breaking up :( --per Boatnerd shipwreck appendix.
