1000 ft Lakers in Review as they pass through the Duluth Shipping Canal
Thirteen 1000 ft Lakers were built in the late 70's and early 80's to efficiently transport ore and coal across the Great Lakes.
At one time or another all of these boats have visited Duluth to load the raw material to generate the power and make the steel that America needs.
This 3 minute video is a compilation of all of these huge vessels as they entered the Duluth Shipping Canal at one time or another.

ReplyDeleteI remember when the Presque Isle first came to Two Harbors, my Grampa was so excited about that big new ship. Was noticably bigger in that harbor. Thank you again, I love watching these ships.
