"That guy" sounds like he loves his job!! I watched live as the Paul Tregurtha came in, and he was just as enthused--also letting everyone know that the Mesabi Miner was on its way to the bridge, but would be leaving after the visitor center closes. I had to get offline (family duties) before the Blough came in and the Miner left though. :( Grammie Pat, West St. Paul, MN
I had never realized how a big ship like this gets tossed around in the waves until I saw the head-on view at the end of the video. Also seen on the Roger Blough, after this. Quite impressive!
I noticed they closed the gate on the pier to keep people from going out to the lighthouse. What is the reason for that? Is there a scheduled date when they close and reopen it?
Does that guy get paid by word per minute????? Sheesh!!!!!

ReplyDeleteMeant to say "same with the Paul Tregurtha" which is what I thought I was commenting on!
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Glad we could see this.

ReplyDeleteThe gates are closed for the winter season primarily due to safety concerns. They reopen in the Spring once once the ice is cleared. No set date.
