I love the Superior cam because you get a close-up view that you don't get with the Duluth or Two Harbors cams. Such as with the Tadoussac coming in, at about 2:15 of the video, you see the discharge to starboard (from bow thruster, right boatnerds?) and a slight adjustment to port. Also, I like the history in these older CSL boats: the Frontenac, built in 1968, came in the other day, and you can see how the Tadoussac, built in 1969, is different with its extended sides at the waterline (look a bit like outriggers or pontoons), maybe an early design attempt at widening the boats for more cargo space?--newer boats have more rounded fronts without the traditional V in the bow, which I figure increases cargo space, probably read that somewhere in the Duluth Shipping News. Thanks again for this camera, Dennis! Grammie Pat, West St.Paul, MN
Not many people see those views. I'm glad we have the cam. I like the sunrises also.
I saw the CSL Tadoussac come in yesterday. I was amazed at how close you are to the ship. I waved to the crew members. The ship gave us the Captains Salute. I was able to watch the crew members swing off the ship and dock it. It was ship watching at it's finest.
