How come he was babysat by a tug?Being punished for something?
There was a strong East wind up here yesterday. When the Gott makes the turn toward the dock all her freeboard acts as a sail and will push her away from the dock. Tug is needed to push her toward the dock.
I wonder if that isn't a fairly new pilot? In reference to the one question why the Gott always seems to need a tug assist. The wind was pretty fierce yesterday, but it does seem to be the only vessel needing the use of Edward H 95% of the time
The Gott has the most power on the great lakes,,,, yet even he needs help now and then.
Love it - my friend Brandon decided to show up on the webcam and wave (but I was on my way to church that morning at that time) so I got to see it later anyway. Cool! That's the guy walking around in the foreground.
I've seen the Gott come in a few times now and this was the first time I've seen any of the boats with a tug.But the explanation of the wind sounds good to me.
