Loonhaunt, I've wondered the same thing about the clanging sounds common on a lot of the Lakers coming in. Someone posted that those were the sounds of the cargo covers being loosened in preparation for docking. In this video I could see several men on deck doing something. Maybe that is it? Perhaps someone else has a conclusive answer.
Love it, looks So much better with the full screen. Great upgrades
ReplyDeleteSo clear! Next best thing to being there!
ReplyDeleteWhere are the birds? Oh, they're not up yet. So what is the banging clanging sound when freighters go through the canal, like the Indiana Harbor?
ReplyDeleteThe sound is the hatch covers on the ship being unlocked
DeleteThan metal clanking you can sometimes hear as boats pass is the crew unlatching the cargo covers.

ReplyDeleteRemoving clamps off the hatches..... done it many times.
ReplyDeleteIf you can copy my link into your browser, do it. We get into civil unrest concerning Edmund Fitzgerald and good photos of latches and hatches.
