With the shipping season is almost done for awhile, I just thought I would say Thank You for all the great people who support this site and the cameras. The cams are part of my life and are my windows to the world.
Although I live in Duluth, I never get tired of the changing weather, boat traffic, sunrises and people watching through the cams.
Springtime is not far off now and the cameras will stay on so we can watch the weather and the seasons change.
I look forward the 2018 season and my goal will be to somehow get a camera down at the Wisconsin Entry, or. at least figure out what might work.
Enjoy the rest of winter and thanks again,
Den
On Wisconsin. Uncle Stewart worked in Superior dry docks. Does Fraser have a tall enough building?
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your hard work Dennis!
ReplyDeleteThanks for eveything Dennis, great job on the cams, and a Superior cam would be awesome. It was an ESPECIALLY enjoyable season for me, being able to record videos and share with others. Now I have both computers set up to record in MP4 For next season, so No more uploading and downloading 10 times to post a video.
ReplyDeleteI do truly appreciate your work and time with the cameras. I live in central, Indiana, so I don't get to see the ships often, outside of several trips a year to the Soo. We plan to come to Duluth sometime this coming summer.
ReplyDeleteThank you for these cameras. I love them. I will still watch everyday to watch and compare weather until the boats start up again. :) Now for some football... love from Rhode Island gal.
ReplyDeleteI live in Rochester, MN and try to make it to Duluth at least once every year.
ReplyDeleteI truly want to say Thank You for all of the web cams. I go to them often every single day. Now I have my Great Grandson who is six wanting to see them whenever he is here.
Once again thank you.
Thanks Dennis for all your hard work.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless.
Thanks Dennis for your continued effort to keep the site up to date and the equipment working well. Looking forward to a camera on the other end of the bay near the Superior entrance. Good Luck.....Neil

I wish yourself a great 2018, and also all the other Duluthians?????? that tune in.
two words: THANK YOU!
ReplyDeleteThe webcams have truly become a 'thing' for me. Although, when I share my enthusiasm with friends some get a blank look on their face and if I whip out my phone and play a video for them they REALLY think I'm weird. Go figure...;+).
ReplyDeleteFortunately, my husband indulges my fixation and seems to enjoy the videos and my banter about the Lakers and Duluth.
Now, here are my two words: THANK YOU!! from Northern California
Well done again Dennis! Many thanks for the hours of enjoyment you give to so many.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dennis for all that you do. I enjoy looking at the cameras and always check to see what Mother Nature has in store for Duluth. I appreciate your hard work and dedication to the website.
ReplyDeleteYes Dennis, thank you for all your work and great photography. And all the cams. I really like the idea of a Wisconsin Entry cam!!!!!!!!! Super, always thought it would be neat to get one at that Entry. Thanks again!!
ReplyDeleteAgain Thank you Dennis. These are the best webcams I have found. I very much agree with the positive comments made about the pleasure of what you are doing brings to so many people & to me too. Thank you, Brian Ferguson, Honey Harbour Ontario Canada
ReplyDeleteA viewer in NW Arkansas, who spent much time on the Texas Gulf Coast, watching big ships come and go from the Port of Corpus Christi, through the coastal town of Port Aransas. Almost all petro-chemical tankers. Thanks for your faithfulness and a beautiful city and camera site. The best.Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, Port Aransas is GREAT for ship watching. I live in Minneapolis and am a frequent visitor to Duluth but my wife and I make it to "Port A" periodically and am glad someone else knows of it! These webcams let me feel a little closer to the big lake and the ships of course. Dennis is doing Great work here!
DeleteThanks for all your hard work!!! After living in ND for many years and visiting Duluth annualy, then moving to Arizona it is nice to be able to keep track of the boats. Tnanks agaain.

ReplyDeletethank you dennis
ReplyDeleteDennis I thank you so much for this website. I check it everyday. I love Duluth! It is such a special place.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your great work. We love watching the cameras daily from Southern CA. We are fortunate to get back to Duluth and the North Shore several times a year and it will always be home. We will still be watching during the winter and look forward to the spring shipping season. Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dennis for all you do! I come here every morning to see what the weather is like and what ships have come and gone. I live in New York but thoroughly love "visiting" your city. Keep warm!!
ReplyDeleteWe made several trips to Duluth over the decades with our kids. I found your webcams when my son got a job teaching there at the university. I'm far away, but I can tune in and imagine I'm watching over him up there on the hill. I never get tired of seeing the crowds gather and wait for the captain's salute. I have much gratitude for your excellent efforts.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all the wonderful pictures. Skol!!
ReplyDeleteThank YOU Dennis!
ReplyDeleteDennis, I was raised in Minnesota near Bagley and just up the road from Itasca and the headwaters of the Mississippi. I visited Duluth as a young person, once to the Zoo with a church group and then my brother and sister were both in the hospital there several times. I was able to make my way down to the ship canal and watch ships like the Fitzgerald pass through when they were the biggest thing afloat. After my fathers death in 1967 my family moved to North Carolina, over the years I have traveled back to Duluth several times the latest being 2015. The cameras have made this journey for me nearly every day since and I thank you much for the dedication you have given to this blessing for so many who love the Duluth area. God Bless you brother for your tireless effort and acknowledgement of our Creator.
ReplyDeleteThanks for another wonderful season of watching the lake and all the really great things that happen in Duluth. Although I live in Mississippi, my wife and I spend three weeks each year on the North Shore and we love stopping in Duluth to visit the harbor and watch the ships as they come in and depart. I spend time each day checking in just to relax and anticipate our next trip up.
ReplyDeleteWe live in upstate New York and we've enjoyed your website all year
ReplyDelete. Thank you for making life better! Ship watching is a great hobby and your cameras are the best!
Another Great Year Den!! If you need donations for either the Superior Entry cam or, possibly one at Silver Bay... I'm In!!
ReplyDeleteThis site is one of the first things I load every day upon getting to work. At home my oldest is seven and loves watching "The Duluth Show." My youngest was born with the canal cam on the tv in the delivery room. We even took a family picture this year via screen snap on our cell phones of the feed as we were sitting on "our bench." I'm up for donations when needed. I would also LOVE to see a camera dead center in the canal attached to the operators house - just imagine the view! That's likely a dream but oh well :) Thanks again for all the hard work in maintaining these cameras!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your wonderful website. I've checked it several times a day every day for years. Your hard work is much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciated your hard work Den. I tune in almost everyday. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHaving be born in Duluth in 1943 and leaving there in 1947, I always come back to Duluth via the Cams. I do come back in person for visiting and fishing on the Gunflint, but in between I do Cam visits. Thanks for all you do!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really enjoy the views. Best in 2018, Lance
ReplyDeleteEchoing the others Dennis!! We live in Fargo, & were in Duluth in mid-August again last summer. I'm looking at the cams frequently! Wife thinks I'm such a geek! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI may have mentioned this, but I'd LOVE TO see a cam on the TH ore-docks! It would be awesome to see a big boat coming "down the chute"!!! Just my opinion, but I don't really like the cam on the building.
Thanks again for all your work!!!
Faron
Great year of making the cameras show Duluth`s Canal Park and the Harbor!
ReplyDeleteDennis....many thumbs up!
