The lady narrating the arrivals says they were built in Lorain Ohio. Sad story here: http://www.nbcnews.com/specials/geographyofpoverty-heartland-1?cid=sm_tw
Thank you for the link. I grew up 30 minutes from Lorain Shipbuilding and my parents would take my brother, sister and I to watch the construction of these great ships. I wish we could still do that today. The article is sad as you have stated. It is great that Duluth has been able to include tourism in with their industry. It should help the city whenever industry and shipping are slow. I hope someday Lorain can do something similar and take advantage of the lake and shoreline. Hopefully the people of Duluth realize what a great thing they have there. Thanks again. Kim
