  1. It was surreal watching her arrive this morning, gliding in with the steam rising and the boat all frosted in white like some ghost ship. One of the highlights of my several years of following this site. Thank you, Dennis! And stay warm! Judy in La Crosse, WI

  2. This time of year is one of the most magnificent! I am so thankful that through these web cameras, others can see what I often take for granted.
It seems that in the most severe weather, God's glory is more apparent then ever!

  3. Dennis, earlier in December did you indicate that in severe cold weather many of the boat captain's don't want to sound the whistle due to possible damage? Judy in la Crosse

  4. Ah yes! Some don't work, but, most have a completely different sound in the cold air. It is kinda cool to hear the different tuns.
I'm not sure if blowing then will cause any damage, but, they may not work due to icing. Try to whistle when your lips are frosty!

  5. Is anyone not seeing ship positions on the marinetraffic.com map, or is it just me? I'm logged in and my settings are good but I don't see any ships anywhere. Was working fine the other day.

  7. Sorry, your PC buffer may be filling up. Try one of the other AIS displays listed on the left column.

  8. It's working now after clearing the browser cache. The other maps work fine, I had not tried them before now.
