  1. I was wondering if it was possible to find out how much weight in cargo a ship loaded while in Duluth/Superior port?

I've been interested in comparing photos of ships when they are empty to when they are full, just to see how much lower they ride in the water.

The KOM photos provide very good perspective. I was surprised to see how much lower it rode when full.

I could find some Gross Tonnage type information on the Live Ships site, but I was also hoping to find displacement, as that would allow a good comparison of the weight of the empty ship vs the weight of the loaded ship (assuming we can find out how many tons of cargo were loaded in port).

    Any ideas?

  2. Oh, and in reading the Duluth Shipping News I see she was scheduled to load 12,100 tons of wheat. So, assuming that's accurate, I have half my info. Now, any idea what her displacement is?

  3. This has nothing to do with the Kom but could anyone tell me what coast guard boat is forever anchored on the pier B cam??

  4. The boat tied up at Pier B is the retired CGC Sundew. It was sold to a local businessman who is preserving it and occasionally doing some diner cruises.
