In a coordinated dance, the two giant cranes at the Duluth Port Terminal delicately unload tower sections for Midwest wind turbines from the Happy River. It almost looks easy.
The Happy River videos are some of the most fascinating ones. How much real time passes for the unloading? Is it possible to show it in real time or show a portion of it? Could the Port of Duluth set up bleachers and charge admission to watch the unloading and make a bit of extra cash? I would pay to see this. Fun times! deb
The timelapse covered about 18 hours. You can actually watch from outside the fence if you like. For one section to be unloaded it takes about 10 minutes.
That is really cool watching it unloading those turbines. The first time I was surprised when the floor opened up and there was more of them below! It's kind of funny watching the speeded up video, with the semi's lined up one after another getting loading up.
Wow, 18 hours. I guess I don't really have time to watch a video for that long. I will be happy watching the timelapse. My grandkids will enjoy watching this too. Thanks for all the videos. deb
But it is easy (for them since its what they do).
ReplyDeleteI think they are headed fro Illinois. Great video. I love that ship.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! I watched it on my big screen tv. The ship looks like it really tips back and forth when they lift the cargo off
