Seems to me that all the boats are playing with fire if trying to get one last run in and knowing the Soo locks close Jan 15th. Not much time and not looking good. Watching from Chicago.
Thanks for the info Dennis, I kinda figured about the steel makers and other business's needing to stockpile but still wondered about the backup of ships, makes sense the cold would be the problem. Any idea where the Alder is, don't see her on the list on the AIS.
Any ships ever gotten stuck on Superior because they could not get out before the locks close? Are there any ships that strictly operate on Superior while the locks are closed?
