Hi Paul,For the eclipse photo I used what is called a veri-ND filter. It is a special filter composed of two polarizing filters pancaked together. When rotated in the proper direction they cut almost all light through the lens. I used my Sony A7r camera and a 70-200 lens. 1/500 shutter, F22
