The Last Boat in!
The arrival of the 1000 ft Edwin H Gott this morning was a fitting end to the 2011-2012 shipping season.
The zero degree temperatures were a good reminder that there is a bit of winter left.
I hope you have enjoyed the views throughout the year, and I will see you in the Spring.
Dennis
Thanks for the great work and keeping us up on all the boat traffic through the season. We'll be looking forward to the next season of boat watching on Superior. The Browns
I moved away from Duluth approximately 40 years ago & visit family yearly. I so appreciate your wonderful shots of the ships so that I can keep in touch with the beauty of Duluth. Thank you so much for a job well done. The moonrise was awesome. -Cindy Murphy-
As always - STUNNING photos. Dan ^ is right - you saved the best for the season finale. We think you're "in cahoots" with the GOTT captain so that her arrival was lit by morning sun :-) Thanks for bringing the harbor activity to our South Dakota home. Anne & Dave, Sioux Falls
The only thing cooler than patiently and purposefully watching a trusty old ship glide through the canal on a perfect Duluth evening and then hearing the horn blast reverberate in your chest... is feeling like you got that same exact experience from 400 miles away.
The final ship of the shipping season... how beautiful! I have been away from Duluth (in Michigan) for twenty two years; the Harbor stays with me always. Thanking you.
Wow. Saving the best for last this season.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the photos this year. I look forward to next season's pictures.
