  1. Why was the Paul R. in & out twice yesterday? Any ideas?

  2. This info from the Port: The Tregurtha came in to fuel, but was going to load behind the American Integrity. Calumet did not allow them to stay at their dock after fueling due to the construction of the canopy and dock repairs going on- so the Tregurtha went out to anchor until the dock was clear at MERC.

  3. Since Veterans Day is a holiday where I work, I went up to again see the lighting ceremony at Split Rock Lighthouse that commemorates the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. As I stayed at a Canal Park hotel, I had a great view of the Resko, James R Barker, and Cason J Callaway arriving one after the other from my window. I did venture out to snap a few pics, of course - it sure was a cold and windy weekend. Thanks also, Dennis, for the extra footage in this clip of the Edwin H Gott, not a frequent visitor to Duluth. I intended to watch her arrival the night before around midnight, but didn't wake up. :( She made quite an impression on me some years ago, the first 1000-footer I had seen - I was out walking on the Two Harbors breakwater when she was loading there.
