Lake Superior Gales



A powerful Noreaster packed a punch as it slammed into the rocky cliffs of Lake Superior's north shore with incredible waves and 65MPH winds.

The Gales of November Come Early.  This storm is one of the most powerful in recent years.  I was at Silver Bay this morning and winds were 65MPH.  Incredible power.
I hope the cams are able to hold up, I may have some fixing to do come tomorrow.

Gale Warning Posted!

A Gale Warning remains in effect from 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ this evening to 1 AM EDT /midnight CDT/ Thursday.
* WIND AND WAVES DURING THE GALE WARNING...
Expect sustained   winds of up to 35 knots
 from the northeast, with gusts up to  46 knots. 
The largest expected significant waves will be 17  
 feet with a maximum wave height of up to 25 feet possible.

* TIMING...The maximum winds are expected around 8 AM EDT   
Wednesday with the largest waves expected around 1 PM EDT  Wednesday.

Flowing Colors

The rivers in the Northland are flowing high due to heavy rains making for some beautiful fall scenery.  Below is the Lester River Bridge in Duluth.
