"Dusk to Dawn" - Sunrise Timelapse 03/19/2023

In the realm of the slumbering giants,
Where the ancient stones gently sigh,
A canvas of hues is painted anew,
As dawn graces Lake Superior's sky.
The serenade of whispering winds,
Caress the waters' placid face,
Reflecting hues of pink and gold,
In this, nature's sacred space.
A celestial blaze ignites the horizon,
Emerging from the edge of night,
Gently erasing shadows past,
With tendrils of soft, warm light.
The sun ascends, a glowing orb,
A herald of life's eternal grace,
Bathing the shores of Lake Superior,
 In a luminous, tender embrace.
In this dance of light and shadow,
A moment's beauty, forever to savor,
We find solace in the splendor,
Of a Lake Superior Sunrise, a moment to treasure.

Welcome to Springtime on the Canal 03/02/2021

Things are waking up around the Northland -- With very little ice on Lake Superior, it should be a relatively easy shipping opener in a few weeks.

Frigid February in Duluth - 02/10/2021

A deep cold front dropped into the Northland over the weekend as a reminder that winter still may have an occasional bite to it even though Spring is only a few short weeks away.

Just Passing Time on Lake Superior

In case you missed the sunrise this morning, grab a cup of coffee, sit down and relax for five minutes. This morning's sunrise will drop your blood pressure ten points and help put life into perspective.
ENJOY!

Slow January Sunrise

The -10F temperature at the Duluth Harbor was not unusual for late January, but, open water in the canal is unusual for this time of year. Looks like an early Spring on the way.

Superior Sunrise

This timelapse plays the two-hour sunrise this morning at the Canal. Particularly beautiful as seen in a timelapse, God mixed the elements of His Creation this morning in a stunning display of His Glory.

Sometimes the simple beauty of a "Superior" sunrise can be a reminder that some things never change and hope is on the horizon.
