Sea Smoke Sunrise at the Canal 12/25/2020 (Timelapse)

Cold air (-10F) moving over the relatively warm waters of Lake Superior lifts sea smoke into the sky to mix with the light of a Christmas Day sunrise.
A present from Heaven!

Notice how the ice flow changes direction from the beginning to the end of the 90 min time frame.

Merry Christmas!

Fire and Ice!

December Sunrises are stunning displays of God's creations.  What better time view it then below zero on the shores of Lake Superior.

I thought I would try a quick snapshot with my IPhone from the Lakewalk.

It happens every year! A strong cold front comes sweeping into the area from the arctic and streams across the warmer waters of Lake Superior.
The weather phenomenon makes for a beautiful scene and is well worth the numb fingers.
Enjoy the cold!

The James R Barker passes under the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge at 7:30 this morning and into the icy "Sea Smoke" rising off Lake Superior.  An appropriate scene for January shipping in Duluth.
