The Loons have returned

With the tree frogs croaking in the swamps, the loons returned to the Northland to join in the chorus.
I took this photo this evening on Caribou Lake this evening, three days after the ice went out.

A loon stretched his wings as the sun sets on another Minnesota evening. Loons are commonly seen around the Duluth Harbor and many of the surrounding lakes, including Lake Superior.
