Presque Isle departed Duluth 06/06/2018 (Timelapse)

The 1000 ft Presque Isle departed Duluth this evening with a slick maneuver to avoid getting too close to the canal wall.  Whew!
Also note: this is a timelapse, the actual speed was much slower.

  1. Great Job by the Captain on those thrusters, thought for sure they were going to hit the wall. That was pretty close

  2. Wow, bit of drama lining up to go through the canal. Wonder what happened there? Guess that's why they invented stern thrusters.

  3. I was watching that live on the GLA camera. Even more dramatic at normal speed. Seemed to be headed for the wall, and any change of course seemed very slow to occur. Thought I was going to see history made.

  4. The recreational boats were in the way. They should give the ships a wide berth. Captain deserves a big salute.
