OK, the previous post shows Tregurtha leaving at 5:55 AM. Full. Now, empty it is entering the harbor at 1:00 PM. That's gotta be some sort of record for turnaround. Sure it didn't just dump its load in the lake?
Hi, Lee A Tregurtha departed at 5:50 AM - Paul R Tregurtha arrived at 1PM Interestingly -- Lee was the wife of Paul Tregurtha - owner of Interlake Steamship Co., Lakes Shipping and the Mormac Marine Group
Ahh. It would help if I read the titles a bit more closely. Now I need to clean my glasses.
What is that big ugly building to the North West of the Arial lift bridge? Such an ugly building for such beautiful surroundings!
The building is the old Gowen-Lennings-Brown building built in 1915. Originally a food warehouse, it became the Palucci Building in 1961 where they made Jeno's Pizza for many years. It is now the corporate offices of Grandma's Restaurants. While not very scenic, it is a part of Canal Park history. Thanks for asking!
