Soo Locks opening on schedule

Ice or not, the Soo Locks will open on schedule, next Monday March 24th at midnight. Ice breakers will be putting in long hours and boat movement will be slow at first, but there's no stopping the season now. The Tregurtha may make some local runs in the mean time to Taconite Harbor on the North Shore. Below is an AIS view of the boats in the harbor that have now come back to life for the season and preparing to ship out.

  2. Looks like the John G Munson will be going out this season after sitting out for the last one. Could see steam coming out of her, her self unloader was raised & lowered, & she's now showing up on http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/

  3. Out of curiosity, is the bridge operator in the house, even though no ships are scheduled Monday and Tuesday?
