Nasty Wind Storm!

On Sunday February 20th, 2011 a nasty Noreaster kicked up with 60+ MPH gusts for a sustained 12 hour. The winds ripped the covering for the Lift Bridge painting project and coated the Lakewalk with a layer of thick ice.
Thankfully it was not shipping season and all boats are still safely tucked away until the shipping season opens again in a few weeks.

  2. Looks like they will be putting the paint job on hold for 7-10 days. They will probably take the covering that is there off and put up a new one.

  3. I was in Duluth Sunday & Monday. The noise from the cover ripping and the waves was like constant thunder. Thanks for the video.

  5. Wow, impressive what wind can do when you put up a huge sail. better the cover tear than the scaffold topple. It was fortunate that a qualified scaffold contractor installed the scaffold on this side of the bridge.
